Raquel Rabinovich was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina in 1929, studied art in Argentina and Europe, and moved to the United States in 1967. She currently lives and works in upstate New York.

Her recent exhibitions include Raquel Rabinovich:River Library, Fundacin Alon,Buenos Aires, Argentina (2008); Minimal Interference, with Lucio Pozzi, BCB Art Gallery, Hudson, New York (2007); Art on Paper 2004, Weatherspoon Art Museum, The University of North Carolina at Greensboro, Greensboro, North Carolina (2004); Light Unworn:New Paintings by Raquel Rabinovich, Trans Hudson Gallery, New York (2000) and Enfolded Darkness:Recent Drawings by Raquel Rabinovich, Trans Hudson Gallery, New York (1998).

In 2001 she began her ongoing project of site-specific outdoor sculpture installations on the shores of the Hudson River.

She was awarded a Pollock-Krasner Foundation Grant, New York in 2006; a Pollock-Krasner Foundation Grant, New York in 2001; an Individual Artists Program of the New York State Council on the Arts Grant for works on paper, New York in 1995; a National Endowment for the Arts US/France Fellowship, Washington, D.C. in 1992 and a National Endowment for the Arts Visual Arts Fellowship, Washington, D.C. in 1991.
